    Well I thought that I would let you know that lil Becky has made it all the way to New Zealand…. I’m one of a few people that has heard the Demolition Company call, but I am sure that very soon it will be heard throughout NZ and loved by all… I wish that I could download her so I can send her on to the big radio stations here… Thanks for giving a Kiwi girl a huge laugh!!!

    Made it to Utah. Brings me a wee bit of home. I have forwarded it to my friends and they love it too. Now my friends understand what I mean about how the Irish don’t get so offended about things and have a wonderful sense of humor.     Got the “School Demo Man” clip sent to me on e-mail yesterday afternoon and listened to it with some of my work colleagues. Laughed so much that we ended up on the floor for about 20 mins, before e-maling it around the whole office who in turn pretty much did the same thing.

    This girl is pure magic and its great to see a web page for her with more clips on it.

    Hope we have more to come, don’t think we have ever laughed so hard
    in our lives and we are all addicted now !!

    A friend sent this to me here in New Mexico USA and I loved it and played it over several times. What a great little girl she is. Her parents have to be proud as hell of her.
    But what made it the more funny was that the demolision men were enjoying it just as much as she was. I guess it is that sense of humor that the Irish have that mad it work so well.
    I am not sure it would work as well here in the USA, just too many up tight people that can’t seem to let themselves have a little fun.

    Sorry to pop your balloons, everyone, but it’s digitally enhanced. I.E. script translated into words. There are a number of programs available, and the prerecorded words come in varying accents, ages and can be either male or female. If you listen to the introduction where the voice says “No, I’m sick of it, so I rang a demolition company in Nuery and got through to Steven.” it gives it away completely.

    Still funny though :)

    Well, JD, sorry to pop your balloon – but you are wrong. Becky is a very much a real girl and her calls are entirely authentic. It’s true she is coached a bit and has some questions written down for her ahead of time, but she most certainly is a very real 8-year old girl from Dublin, Ireland.

    I have been in contact with her family through her brother and they are quite overwhelmed by the amount of coverage their ‘wee little one’ has garnered around the world. You might note her mother replied a few posts above this one.

    Sorry, John, but I’m not convinced. I have no doubt that the little girl exists, and that it may even be her voice fed into a script translation program, but to me the calls sound prefabricated.

    I’m not trying to be a spoilsport here, and if what you say about knowing the family is true, then I stand corrected. But these communications, John, are just words on a website. For all I know, you are a part of the radio station that is promoting this thing. And as for the mother’s comment, I saw a comment on there from the little girl, as well. It all seems too convenient if you ask me.

    It just isn’t ringing true, and as cute as it all is, I’d need to see proof before I change my way of thinking.

    This is genuine. Little Becky is on 98fm, a Dublin radio station every morning at approx. 840am. Those of you who do not believe this is real obviously have not met many Irish people, or Irish kids, and do not realise what children of 8 can pick up from those around them. Becky brightens my mornings whilst I sit on the DART.

    I’ve just been introduced to Becky’s prank calls via a website. Must admit that I’m completely charmed by her! I’ve listened to all the calls, but my favorite is definitely the demolition prank. Even when I’m not listening to it, I can hear Becky’s lovely lilt in my head, and I’m starting to end all my sentences with “yeah?”

    I never doubted for a moment that it was a child, nor did I think she came up with the entire dialogue on her own. Someone has done an excellent job of giving her some simple guidelines and then letting her ‘have at it’. How many 8-year olds could pull this off without laughing, stumbling over their words or just getting nervous and giving up? So — GOOD ON YA to the entire crew for putting together a really entertaining spot! And Becky, we’re loving you here in Chicago!!

    This girl is really hilarious. I heard the “Demolition Company” sound clip during our discussion about UK. My instructor used this as one of the best example of Irish accents. Everybody inside the conference room was really laughing so hard. We even asked our instructor to play it over and over again. If you started hearing this little cute and adorable girl, you won’t stop laughing. She would be a great artist someday. Keep up the good work, Little Becky! You’re making people happy!     i’m one of the people from the conference room and i was really laughing my head off!!! i work at a call center with michrose and we speak to irish people whenever there is an omnibus project. i learned a lot with the accent and the magnificent idiomatic expressions. you reminded me of the respondent i had from dublin when the little daughter answered my call and gave it to her mom. it was so cute!!! you took my stress away becky!!!

    I thoroughly agree with Dee’s comment regarding the school demolition “prank” call. Had this ocurred in Houston, be assured that it would have received a prompt response from the authorities! While some of Becky’s stuff (partially scripted, or not) is “cute” and a bit funny, but not to the point of pants-wetting, I think she goes a bit over line, i.e., I’m sure her dad really got a big kick out his being called a “fat slob” (or words to that effect)!

    Becky’s brother Warren just emailed me back to say plans are afoot to release a Little Becky CD in 2007. However these plans are still in the early stages and he will inform me of any developments.

    Becky is still making calls on 98fm in Dublin and she recently appeared on a national afternoon chat show as a guest. The segment featured footage of Becky making a call and being interviewed. If I can get my hands on the footage, I’ll post it here on johntedwards.com.

    This is great, my father sent me an email with the website information and I really laughed inside. The reason I believe that all us adults love this little girl, is that she reminds us of the good in the world. The good, that we were before life had strangled us with the responsibility of work and raising a family and paying the bills and doing whatever it is we have to do, to survive in this world. Little Becky reminds us of our innocense that we had, but lost and it warms our heart and shows us that good always prevails over evil. Example: you had a very bad day and your angry(Evil), but after listening to Becky you’ll feel laughter and joy in your heart, that’s the GOOD. I believe that she should have her own radio show during work commuting times.We should call it ( START YOUR DAY OFF RIGHT WITH BECKY). Have people call in and just have a radio talk show, I know she could do it. She seems very inteligent, and if I had the money I would definately hire her to do this. Sometimes things happen in the world and people come to out attention for a reason that we may not understand why, maybe GOD is trying to remind us we are all his children and maybe he’s using this little girl, to help us remember to laugh and not take life so seriously and be innocent and free from evil. Remember evil has nothing, but GOOD has GOD in it, that’s why it makes us happy to be good and this little girl has nothing but good in her heart .

    Let’s all start a campaign, to help get this little girl on the radio, it will help the world I believe and you’ll see the positive that will come from it. She will be a big talk radio star around the world. I live in california, USA and she’s from Dublin. WOW and I bet she didn’t mean to do this.     Well Becky has made it to Ohio and our Irish family adores her. My husband & I are expecting our first baby later this year we can only hope and pray our child is as witty and charming as she is. God Bless you Becky, you made my week!!!!

    What a great idea for radio listeners because it is the phenomenal quality of Becky’s voice that gets through — musical, charming, young, feisty. I wonder how this perfect kid came to the attention of the radio station. I have read that someone decides who is called and scripts what she will say. It’s great theatre! Many people can remember trying this when they were young, (Have you got Prince Albert in the can?) Kids have loved to make prank calls for as long as there have been phones. But how lovely to hear people warming up to her and responding with affectionate humor to her questions instead of telling her that she is wasting their time and telling her that they are going to hang up! I guess that it will be hard to catch anyone who is truly unaware from now on, now that the whole universe knows about Becky.

    Hi to Becky and all those who are helping to make so many people smile on a daily basis. As for those who feel the need to leave negative comments prehaps they should try and smile a little. If my children show the potential that this little lass has then I would be very proud of them. She’s obviously very bright and fully supported by her family. I’m sure her parents are informed of the calls contents before they are even made let alone aired. As for Beckys parents taking offence to the comments made about them do the killjoy’s think they would allow it if they did?     I am agast at these tapes and content for an 8 year old child. She sounds bored, unsupervised, and lacks adult attention. She needs attention and direction in a creative field of interest. There is no doubt she is bright. I do think this advertisement of her calls strokes negative performance and borders on child abuse. I don’t think it is funny at all…I am very sad to hear this….

    Absolutely fantastic, what hunour this little girl gives everyone with her prank calls i hace heard it twice now on bbc radio 2 UK. She made my drive to work a lot of fun im sure people thought i was mad laughing to myself driving along. It was great i have also listened to all her other calls on your website they made my whole family laugh. Well done Becky keep it up.

    Thank-you for the laughter. My dad, who does not like using the computer heard this and told me about the demolition call. It was amazing that everyone in the entire room had received this via email and knew about it. They all enjoyed it. I couldn’t believe that my dad knew about it! We all had great laughs over it.     I work with the Demolition Man and was standing next to him during the phone call and can assure everyone it was not a set up. By the way the demolition man got married last saturday (06/10/07). Can not belive how this clip has gone around the world.
    The demolition company is from Newry Co. Down not Belfast as reported in the papers.
