We’re goin’ crazy with the movie trailers this week. You can really tell summer is on it’s way. The first batch of badass movies is almost here (Grindhouse!).
I loved the first two Bourne films, so this is another on my must-see list. So strap in for another cool feature with this trailer for The Bourne Ultimatum:
Get your first look at the sequel to Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later from a couple years ago. It was one of my favorite horror movies in recent years. Boyle only exec produces this time around, as the directing reins get passed to Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who’s making his major English-language debut with the film.
28 Days Later, is due for release May 11th and here is the official trailer:
Cinematical have some good news for any remaining fans of The X-Files: a second theatrical film, which star David Duchovny has been talking about making for a few years now, is closer to being a reality. During a set visit to Duchovny’s currently shooting film The TV Set, IESB.net found out from the actor that negotiations are currently in their final stages, and that the film should start filming in 2008 or sooner.
According to IESB, Duchovny had mentioned the possibility of a second X-Files movie in 2005; instead of an alien conspiracy plot, though, Scully and Mulder would be engaged in a “standalone supernatural horror film,” as IGN reported back then.
Great cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic, done with a haunting Celtic flair. It’s another grey, moody day in the Northeast. Drift along with this cool song by one of the great voices in New Age music.

Surprisingly for eastern Pennsylvania, the first day of Spring was actually warm and pleasant – downright spring-like. I got to run errands today with the top down on the car for the first time in forever. 67 degrees felt pretty damn great as I lost the jacket and drove down into town.
I shipped off the last of my Sirius radio stuff that I sold on eBay and sent back a crappy, counterfeit Bluetooth headset that I’d also purchased on eBay. After making a bank deposit, I enjoyed a nice leisurely drive back up to the house.
After parking and putting the top back up, it started to rain literally a half hour later – good timing! Anyway, it’ll be semi-crappy and semi-cold for another week until it hits the high 60s again next Friday.
It’s days like today I regret the seeming inevitability of selling my car. I can’t make the payments anymore and there’s money tied up in it that I could get back by selling. But it sucks to have to go back to a coupe after these past three years.
Anyway, it looks to be a good weekend and I’m heading back down to the home theater to re-enter the world of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, a game that should be criminalized by the DEA, as it is more addictive than crack cocaine.
Remember those articles and nature videos on how spiders built those amazing webs while on drugs? Well, the video below is quite informative.
In the 1960s, Dr. Peter Witt gave drugs to spiders and observed their effects on web building. This short film about the results of the experiment was created by First Church Of Christ, Filmmaker.
Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and the old gang are back in the third instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The trailer is OK and I’m pretty sure that the movie is going to be a fun ride. And make a ton of cash. The film opens May 25th.
OK, the last two weeks I’ve been playing video games like a crackhead. Other than some web design work, there hasn’t been much to do. I even had problems with my laptop last week (one reason why there were no updates here), so I was stuck with even less to do than normal.
I’ve been playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion almost every day (more on that in a later post). But I also got a copy of Star Trek: Legacy, the kickass starship combat game from Bethesda. I’d almost finished ST:L the last time I rented it – and even began playing online against other gamers around the world. I’ve since added several friends to my list on Xbox Live due to Trek and only wish more people were out there playing this great game.
Anyway, I wanted to share some cool screenshots. Click each thumbnail below:

Gerard Butler is interested in starring in a remake of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.
I have no idea what Neal Moritz and Ken Nolan have in mind, so it’s hard to know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
All you can ask is would Butler be a good choice for Snake Plissken, hypothetically speaking? I’m sure we’ll hear more details soon. For now, here’s what Fleming had to say:
â€Hot off the socko bow of “300″ this past weekend, star Gerard Butler is at the center of a package that CAA began shopping Monday for a remake of John Carpenter’s 1981 actioner “Escape From New York.”
Neal Moritz is attached to produce, with “Black Hawk Down” scribe Ken Nolan penning the screenplay.
Several studios are battling for the pic, mostly because the $70 million launch of “300″ signaled the arrival of an emerging action star in Butler…
