EVE Online – Apocrypha

apocevebanner1

OK, I am basically a hardcore addict of this Massive-Multiplayer Online (MMO) game. I’ve been playing it many hours each week for over a year now and I can attest to it’s addictive qualities.

Not only has EVE itself been going strong for over 5 years, but it’s about to be expanded and improved in March with a staggering new expansion that will even further open the possibilities of this exciting and engrossing game.

Check out Dollhouse

I don’t watch too much TV, but I do have a few shows in the TiVO I enjoy. A new one I’ve added is from Joss Whedon, the creator of my favorite show of all time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also was behind the spinoff series Angel (another all-time fave) as well the series (and movie) Firefly.

Dollhouse is about a group of individuals with no memory who are employed by a secret agency which programs them every week with different personalities and backgrounds to fulfill various roles for wealthy clientele. The premiere episode was pretty good, but didn’t give an indication that this was Joss’ next masterpiece. However, the second episode was excellent and it looks like the show is heading in a very good direction.

Check out the trailer for this week’s episode and be sure to watch Fox on Friday nights, after Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Mosquito Tone Test

12ring-graphicThe Mosquito Tone is a phenomenon that has recently garnered much media attention. For those who don’t know, this tone is a sound which operates at a level that paradoxically older people cannot hear, but younger people can.

It was originally marketed in Britain as an ultrasonic teenager repellent, an ear-splitting 17-kilohertz buzzer designed to help shopkeepers disperse young people loitering in front of their stores while leaving adults unaffected.

But now it has made it’s way to a whole generation of youth who utilize the sounds as ringtones. This enables teenagers to hear when their cellphones receive messages at times when the phones are supposed to be silenced, such as during classes in school.

Would you like to know if you might be able to hear these elusive tones? Plasticmind Journal has prepared an article which will allow you to do just that.

Click Here to see just how old you are (or at least how old your ears are). Incidentally, I could hear the tone all the way up to the 17 KHz — and I’m 40. So, like the man says, I got that going for me…
