Another Fins Collapse

I’ve been a fan of the Miami Dolphins since I was a kid and there have been some good and bad. OK, other than Dan Marino, mostly bad. And even with #13 we collapsed under bad drafts and big-game chokes more often than not.
I’d hoped this year would be different but adding another chapter to what is becoming a miserable month, my beloved Fins just gagged on a 21-point lead to the New Orleans Saints, showing once again that in Miami, nothing much ever changes.

Well, you have to take the bad…this week at least. I mean the Saints are an unstoppable force at the moment. They are undefeated and are top of the NFL’s overall power rankings. Their defense is running well too.
Think of the sad-sack St. Louis Rams. They get what they deserve, for systematically dropping their talent for the last 5-10 years. Gone is the ridiculous G.S.O.T., which included names like Faulk, Warner, Bruce, Holt, Manumaleuna, Proehl, Pace, Jones, Archuleta and Little.
Now I understand that guys get old and can’t play anymore, but what of guys that were still viable and couldn’t squeeze any cash out of the franchise? Well good for them, save the money, drop the talent, replaced with bad choices and lose the fan base. I continue to sigh with disbelief, every weekend, when I see the scores. At least the fins try to win. They can score, not like the Keystone Kops of Blue and Gold. They can make goal-line stands, but not the anemic Rams. Hey, one can always find a new allegiance like the Cardinals, Vikings or Broncos.
There’s my nickel package.
