I Miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Although the Greatest Television Show of All Time has been off the air for several years now, I find myself today missing those characters and epic storylines, not to mention the laughs. Although some very good shows have come along since then, particularly Dexter, nothing has come close to the mix of humor, romance, horror, action and great dialog like BTVS.

In years past, when times were tough and I needed some good soul healing I’d pop in my DVD box sets and spend a week or two going through all seven seasons, drinking in those old memories. I could watch all the characters I loved come to life again and the aforementioned epic storylines once more have their sweeping, emotional effect on me.

Although times have been grim in recent months it has been far too long since my last journey to Sunnydale. Maybe it’s time I booked my trip.

    I’m having an I miss Buffy moment right now. It’s Tuesday and there is nothi ng I’m excited to watch on tv to night. I like glee and maybe it comes on tonight but I don’t watch it enough to know for sure. But like the original poster said and I agree there’s no other perfect mix of action/horror, romance and humor. Favorite quotes Spike: “I’ve got Buffy taste in my mouth” and Buffy: “Dawn’s in trouble…Must be Tuesday”. Cheers everyone(;

This one time at band camp… vampires attacked! You’re right, it was a good show, though I followed it rather sporadically.

I think I really need some Buffy right now. If only I had the time. Feeling so down right now…

I just finished streaming the whole series on Netflix. I think it was even better than 10 years ago. Now I can watch 2 or 3 episodes at a time. I was even getting depressed when I got into the last season, knowing that it would all be over again soon…

Chiller has been running through the whole season each weekday and it’s been fun to tune and catch different episodes, even though I do have the early seasons on DVD. Experiencing those moments, like the prom episode and such, is really bringing back memories and emotion. I’m glad I waited a couple years to start watching again and now I really want to get the time to re-watch them all. I’m with you, Natalie. :’(

i just started watching buffy this year. Never really understood what everyone liked about the show until I had some teeth pulled and had to be in bed for a week. A marathon was on and from then on I’ve been hooked. By far my favorite show ever. I so wish they would reup the show, even if it would mess up the way things ended. And I can’t believe they killed off spike… The only complaint I have about the show is that we never saw buffy perfectly happy. i know that’s part of her being the slayer and all but i wish she could have found complete joy; ideally with spike, but even seeing her happy with angel or riley would have been great. oh, and I hated that chick that willow was hooking up with at the end. lame.

Tom if you’ve finished the Buffy series I’d recommend going back and watching the spinoff series, “Angel”. If you missed Spike, get ready to be happy.

Never got into Buffy… I had a friend I visited in LA after I got out’ve the military in ’04, he totally dug it… I remember asking him what he liked so much about it, and he said it had a great story. I laughed it off and changed the subject – he’s a bit of a sarcastic guy, so I assumed he was being funny about just watching for hot chicks.

But seeing this makes me wonder. Maybe I should try sitting down and watching the 1st season some time.

At 30, I don’t think it’s really aimed at my age group – BUT, I have this strange addiction/fascination/love of two shows in a similar vein: Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries.

Never particularly liked Angel either, though…

Maybe I’m weird. This is coming from a guy who runs RecentUFOsighting.com. ;-)

Cool site, a Google Image search brought me here through a link to a hilarious shot of a Storm Trooper with his head down, saying “Those WERE the droids I was looking for.” Haha, brilliant.

Alrighty, happy Valentine’s Day and all that. All the best.

I miss this show so bad. Back in High School.
Why couldn’t they keep this show on the air for a couple more years? They need to make another “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” movie. It could be made for tv. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kristie Swanson could cameo star in it just for one scene. I heard Sarah Michelle Gellar said ‘she’s done fighting evil.’ I’d like to know where is she these days?

Back to the thoughts of the movie. Why don’t they don’t
base it from one of the books?

Vampire stories now-a-days suck. “Twilight” and
“Vampire Diaries” ruined everything cool about being
a vampire. Vampires are not supposed to sparkle.
    They’re supposed to have balls.
