About

“I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.”

I was born John Todd Edwards on April 2nd, 1968 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey to John and Helen Edwards. My family lived between Jersey and Pennsylvania up until I was about 7, when we moved to Dallas, Texas. I enjoyed my years there until we returned to PA when I was 10 . I lived around the Lehigh Valley, including Allentown, until I went into the military late in 1986. In the Air Force, I lived on bases in San Antonio, Texas and Biloxi, Mississippi.

I’ve traveled all over the continental United States and enjoyed living for a time in San Diego, California. I went to Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA in the Fall of 1989. I truly enjoyed two of the best years of my life there, until financial shortfalls forced me to drop out.

I’ve only recently moved back to the Lehigh Valley and don’t know many people here any more. Most of my old friends have moved away or gotten married (both actions seem to result in one falling off the earth). Others have changed in ways that make them unrecognizable to me. Sadly, I have not kept in touch with anyone from college.

I now mostly work at home and socialize on a limited basis, with just a handful of friends and my family. During the Spring and Summer of 2006, I traveled to both New Orleans, Louisiana and Pensacola, Florida in search of a sailboat. I wanted to fix her up, learn to sail and eventually resell her for a profit. I did just that with the purchase of the Mariah, a 1987 Hunter 28.5. By the end of Summer, I’d learned how to both work and live on a sailboat.

As in every Summer, I also enjoyed another great trip to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.
