"Spirits in Flight"

No Prologue was written for Spirits in Flight.

Introduction and Summary

Spirits in flight was more less a continuation of the first story. Three of the four members of the group had been revived. But Vic had been left behind, as he had difficulty returning from the shadowlands. Hasani had spirited the others out of the country on the very first plane. Egypt Air Flight 300 was bound for New York, with a stopover in London.

However, the forces of darkness had one last opportunity to strike before the three new champions were gone from the Lands of Fate.

Two hijackers from the cargo hold attempted to take the plane after it crossed over into international waters. They were abetted by two additional hijackers posing as passengers.

As the attack unfolded, the group learned that the two villains wearing head coverings were in fact Reapers. Such monsters are befouled variations on the Scroll of Life. It was only after they were engaged that these horrible beasts were unmasked.

The hijackers' plan was to identify the as-yet-unknown Mummys and murder them. Failing in this, the second phase was to attempt control of the vehicle and crash into the ocean -thus killing all onboard. With the aid of an undercover Sky Marshall, the group were able to destroy all but the two human hijackers. In a last-ditch effort, the villains attempted to blow the hatches on the main passenger hold.

Dragging Fergus to the door with his one good arm, the last hijacker was slain by Alexandra. Ivy moved among the passengers and crew, healing the sick and injured. The group eventually gathered in the back of the plane to inspect the dead bodies. It was learned the Reapers had the group's false passport addresses sewn into their dead bodies.

Knowing this, the group also knew they might escape once they were on the ground. The dark forces of Apophos would be denied their victory for now.
