"Of Saints and Sinners"

Ran: September 13th, 2002
Players: Original cast

"Hoof & horn, hoof & horn, all that dies shall be reborn. Corn and grain, corn and grain, that which falls shall rise again..."

- Lazurite chant

The first adventure, "Saints and Sinners", launched our campaign and introduced all the main characters. Unlike most Mummy campaigns, my story  was to begin with the characters as mortals first.

The premise of the story is that four college students from the U.S. journey to Egypt to decipher what they believe may be an authentic Spell of Life, straight out of ancient mythology. Although each character has different motivations and beliefs regarding the scroll, all agree the discovery could dramatically impact their young futures.

Ignoring travel restrictions to American tourists, following a wave of deadly terrorist attacks inside Egypt, they enter the country using false passports and without their family's knowledge.

There is more to their visit, however, than meets the eye. And forces are at work that will alter their fates forever...

"The Wages of Sin"

Ran: September 27th, 2002
Players: Original cast

“…are death. But what if we are wrong? What would happen if one could sin against both Heaven and Hell? What if one man could harness his free will and raise himself up to the level of his creator?

"As the cold wind blows around my cell here at Mellifont I think on these things. I wonder what would happen if such a man ever lived upon this Earth, what havoc he would create, what miracles he could perform and, in the end, what would he become?”

-St. Malachy of Armagh, saint and madman

This one tells the strange tale of a cult in Berlin who have the singular honor of producing the man who has "sinned against both Heaven and Hell." Chaos ensues.
